One Process (Quote of the Week)

One ProcessIn Evolutionary Enlightenment, the perennial revelation that there is only One is interpreted as the recognition that we are all part of One Process—a singular cosmic unfolding that began fourteen billion years ago and is still evolving, in this very moment, as you and as me. Every aspect of your experience in every moment, from the gross to the subtle, has been produced and is being produced by a cosmic process. Your physical form has been produced by a process that is the evolution of the exterior of the cosmos. Your psychological and emotional experience has been produced by a process that is the evolution of the interior of the cosmos. When you awaken to this perspective, you literally can no longer see yourself as separate.

You can't see your experience, at any level, as occurring in isolation from everything else that exists. The separate world of "me" that the ego creates is seen for what it is: an illusion. And you realize that even your capacity to experience that illusory world of "me" has been produced by this vast process. You cannot stand outside of it. You are the process.

Hello Andrew, I've followed a route that began at Evolve and went on to Barbara Marx Hubbard's webpage and now to yours for the first time. I'm a fan of Barbara's from way back and am really excited and surprised to see these things going on. I feel as if I've been in the dark...and I guess in some ways I have after following a way of solitude for a few years. Having done that what strikes me (me being a pretty non-educated sort) is how much the knowing that's come to me is mostly in harmony with all the up-to-date stuff I'm just discovering. I don't really understand if your blog is a selection of quotes or if you have only now written the blog entry posted here and I managed somehow to come across it just afterwards with no comments yet on the board. I've never done this before, but what the heck, there's always a first time, and just in case you're actually a live human being in back of that entry, I'll ask you a question that I'm sure will show my ignorance of your work, but that's an honest question. I agree (more or less) that the "me" the ego creates is an illusion (although I might not use that word), but my question is about the non-ego-created, the uniqueness of each of us -- whether as process or as self. Do you recognize each as unique and distinct as well as "one?" It's great to find you and the work you're involved in. ~Mari

To be manifested as a human being in corporeal form should not neglect that we also have a spiritual dimension, which is so prevalent in much of our atheistic population. Perhaps Western science has much to do with this or is a result of this denial of our spirituality. A holistic view, becoming more recognized, is that we are spiritual beings as well as material bodies. The embracing of religions is a recognition of this but with the negative aspects organized religions often practice. Spirituality devoid of doctrines that lead to hatred and fear of the Other is perhaps a more enlightened recognition of our being in touch with Spirit. I would wish humanity to move toward this undestanding.

I am totally in agreement with you brother. I do believe we must all come into agreement on a global and personal level with these principles. Then most of the problems we are experiencing right now will vanish. For we will have truly recognized what and who we are, our REAL identity as spiritual entities. And to know WITHOUT A DOUBT that what we do for or against our fellow man, in actuality we do to ourselves, It is ESSENTIAL that we realize IT IS ALL GOD. by whatever name we use to identify it. A rose is a rose.

Quoted from above: "Your physical form has been produced by a process that is the evolution of the exterior of the cosmos. Your psychological and emotional experience has been produced by a process that is the evolution of the interior of the cosmos." I wonder if Awakening is to synchronize the inner cosmos with the outer so that an Awakened person is made whole and has a more complete holisticness?
